The Best Friends

Bell and Jasmine were best friends. The two girls lived next to a stream. They loved exploring new things about the forest. Every time the girls walked to the forest, they followed a playful stream so they didn't lose their way.
One blowy day, the two girls followed the stream to the forest. As the girls walked in they could hear the trees whispering secrets to each other, they could smell delicious odours of nature and could hear the frolicsome stream hustling and leaping over the hard rocks. Everytime the girls wandered in the forest they brought scrumptious snacks, but when they dropped the little crumbs on the path, birds wildly swooped down and gobbled all the food off the dirty ground.

On the way back, Bell and Jasmine saw unfamiliar things. They couldn't spot the path, so they gingerly strolled around trying to find the familiar path. A few hours later they could hear, "Swish! Swish!" Everything started to look and sound familiar, a few minutes later Bell and Jasmine heard voices filling the air. "over here mum!" shouted Bell. They powerfully bolted out to the voices.

Pet Day

WALT make up a story about a Pet Day problem.
WWBSWW:
  • Begin with an orientation to tell the reader who, did what, where and when.
“Pet Day will be on Friday,” Miss Anderson, Tom’s teacher, announced to the class on Monday. “Bring your pet to school and tell us about it, then we will have a pet parade.”
Tom was so excited. He would be able to bring Harry to school to
show everyone.
  • Write the events leading up to the problem.
At the end of the day, he ran all the way home to get his pet ready for Friday.
He loved Harry and had wanted to show his friends for a long time, but his mum and dad had told him that Harry must never leave the house; but, now, his
teacher had given him permission to bring it to school.
Smilingly, he polished Harry’s green silky skin, talking to it with his friendly voice. “You’re allowed to come to school, Harry. You can meet my friends and my friends can meet you.”
As soon as Friday came around, Harry carefully took Harry out of its cage and placed him into his black backpack. He couldn’t wait to get to school, so he ran
all the way.
When the bell rang, he and the rest of the class stepped into the
classroom.
  • Write the problem.
Tom opened his backpack to show his friends what he had brought to school for Pet Day.
“It’s a green, slippery, slimey …...................” he said slowly. “Snake!” he
shouted.
“Tom Denver, give me that thing right now!” Miss Anderson
commanded.
Tom opened his hand to pass it over, but, at that moment, naughty Billy Burton lunged to grab it himself. He bumped Tom’s shoulder and Tom hurtled forward, the snake flying out of his hand to the back of the classroom.
“Eeeeeee! Where is it?” squealed Miss Anderson.
Chaos threatened in Room 4.  Children jumped up and ran around, screeching
their lungs out and pushing over chairs and desks, trying to find Tom’s snake.

  • Write the events to tell your readers how the problem was solved.
Tom had a brilliant idea. He would make a trap. He wildly gathered some things around from the classroom like scissors, glue, paper, cords and the teacher’s lunch. He glued some sheets of paper together to make a net.

All the frightened kids leapt up on all the chairs and desks.

Tom called out to Harry.

Harry wriggled out to the food.

Tom soundlessly approached Harry, gently picked him up and silently dropped him into his backpack.

"Oh what a relief!" Miss Anderson sighed.
Well done, Kruz

The Magic Shows

Yesterday it was Catholic School's Day and two magicians came to our school. Their tricks were both great and funny.

"Wow!" Jonathan's wallet was burning on fire. It was stunning.

The first trick was when Jonathan blew up a balloon and gave us a big smile, " Cheese!" he shouted, then he turned it upside down and asked us what we thought it was. I thought it was a sad face, but it was a moustache.

Rylie asked for a giraffe. Jonathan couldn't make one, so he said that the giraffe went to a party dressed as a dog.

My favourite trick was when he changed a five dollar into a ten dollar by rubbing it.

The second show was the amazing El Gregoe. El Gregoe always brings birds to his show. My favourite trick was when Sue made El Gregoe float. Very very slowly, El Gregoe was floating. I couldn't believe my eyes. Sue was passing her hands above and below to show us that there were no strings.

The Birthday Of The Church

The Church is people spreading the Good News bout Jesus.
Before Pentecost, the followers of Jesus hid in a dark room.
Jesus sent them The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gave the followers courage. They could see flames on top of each other's heads. All of them heard the wind outside so they came out of the dark room and began spreading the Good News and everybody became Jesus followers. This day was called Pentecost. It was the birthday of the Church.

Mothers Day Recount

A while ago, it was my birthday. I was turning nine years old. My birthday party was celebrated at my house.
When I woke up, my whole family was on my bouncy bed and they all had shiny colourful presents. "Crackle! Crackle!" I ripped open my first present. "Wow!" When I saw my present, it looked shiny and black. It was a tablet!
After that, my family and I had some scrumptious porridge. It tasted sweet.
Next, I quickly dressed out of my warm pyjamas into fancy clothes. ''Knock! Knock!'' I came racing to the amber door and opened it curiously. I saw my Aunties.
A while later, my Dad sparked up the BBQ. We had cooked lunch - sausages, eggs, fish fingers and lots of yummy food.
Later, I played with my new presents and had some treats, like chocolate and ice cream. The first present I played with was my brand new tablet.
I love spending time with my mum. She is the loveliest lady I've ever met.
